No matter what you may already know about the work of Salvador Dalí, the provocative surrealist painter still has some surprises in store. The genius of Dalí was cultivated in L’Empordà and on the Costa Brava, with Figueres both his birthplace and home to the Dalí Theatre-Museum. This 5-hour program takes you to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience the work and thought of one of the most extraordinary minds of the 20th century. The museum features a broad range of works that span the career of Salvador Dalí (1904-1989), from his earliest artistic experiences and surrealist creations to the works of the final years of his life. In the early 1960s, Salvador Dalí decided to construct his museum inside the ruins of Figueres’ old municipal theater, which had been destroyed during the Civil War. Everything in the museum was conceived and designed by the artist to provide the visitor with an authentic experience inside the captivating and unique world of Dalí. You’ll travel from Barcelona to Figueres on the AVE high-speed train. It only takes 50 minutes to cover the 140 kilometers, which means that you’ll be back in Barcelona in time for lunch!
